Executive Director David Speaks About Water Supply Outlook
NWRB Executive Director Dr. Sevillo D. David, Jr. discussed the Angat Reservoir: Water Supply Outlook during the 27th Philwater International Conference 2021 held virtually by Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) on October 1, 2021. This year’s conference carried the theme, “Global Challenges: Water and Wastewater Sectors, Utilities, Operation and Maintenance", focusing on the major impacts to the economy and adverse effects to the industry in this pandemic.

With the recent announcement placing certain areas in the country under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), NWRB Memorandum Order 2021-02-A was issued as an Addendum to NWRB Memorandum Order 2021-02 to extend the application of the guidelines therein whenever MECQ is declared in certain areas of the country.

Extension of Time for The Payment of Annual Water Charge and Well Driller Registration
In order to aid the government’s efforts to proactively contain and prevent the surge of COVID-19 disease, and in relation to the announcement placing certain areas under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the following guidelines shall be observed:
1. Deadline of payments of annual water charge (AWC) and well driller registration in all areas during ECQ shall be extended without imposition of penalties and,
2. Payments shall have to be made within five (5) working days after lifting of ECQ.
This Memorandum shall be effective whenever ECQ is declared/extended.

Continuous and Enhanced Water Supply Services In All Areas of Operation Under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)
With the announcement placing certain areas under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), all water utility operators/water service providers are enjoined to refrain from disconnecting water supply to individual households for the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) until the same has been lifted in accordance with Memorandum Order No. 2021-02. However, this Memorandum is not meant to exempt the consumers from paying the appropriate amount corresponding to the volume consumed during this period.
