PROPOSED AMENDMENT ON THE EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF CONDITIONAL WATER PERMIT DURING THE STATE OF PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY
The NWRB proposed to extend the validity of all Conditional Water Permit (CWP) with expiry date that falls between 01 July 2020 to 30 September 2021, including the CWPs that were previously granted extensions, shall continue to be valid for six (6) months after its/their expiration/s.
AUTHORITY TO CONDUCT VIRTUAL HEARINGS
A proposed policy entitled “Authority of the Water Rights Division, NWRB, to Conduct On-line Hearings During the Period of Public Health Emergency, once approved, will give authority to the Water Rights Division to conduct on-line hearings during the present state of Public Health Emergency. Aside from the grant of authority, this policy provides for the general guidelines on how the on-line hearings will be conducted, which may be characterized with formality, confidentiality.
The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) increased the allocation of MWSS from 46 cubic meters per second (CMS) to 48 CMS starting today May 14 until the end of May 2020.
The additional 2 CMS raw water allocation from Angat Dam is considered as a special requirement due to the relatively high heat index in the month of May which results in higher water demand of consumers in Metro Manila and adjacent provinces of Bulacan, Rizal and Cavite.
