Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon Jesus Paje sworn into office Engr. Jorge Estioko as the Deputy Executive Director of the National Water Resources Board and two other DENR officials including Atty. Jonas Leones as Undersecretary and Region 8 Technical Director Danilo Javier as Director III.

 NWRB plans for a better 2015

NWRB officials and employees enjoined in the 2014 Reprogramming and Team Building to review the year's accomplishments and plan 2015 activities for the agency's enhanced delivery of public service.

NWRB, together with Metro Cebu Water District, CUSWRD, LGU representatives and other country delegates from Netherlands, China, Indonesia & Japan convened in the workshop on Comparative Research of Groundwater Management in Coastal Areas in Southeast Asia held Metro Cebu Water District, Cebu City on October 25-26.

NWRB conducted a three-day site inspection of five completed and two under-construction groundwater monitoring wells in Alimodian, San Miguel, Oton, and Pavia towns in Iloilo on October 20-23, 2014.

      Dr. Sevillo D. David, Jr, Executive Director of the National Water Resources Board is one of the speakers during the  “Integrated Water Resources Management Forum for Peace and Development” held on October 22, 2014 at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City.  It was  organized by the Hydrology for Environment, Life and Policy  (Help Davao Network), the Department of Science and Technology Region XI, Davao City Council and Mindanao Development Authority with  support from  UNESCO was aimed to expound the importance of WATER in the economy, society and the environment  and how resolution of associated conflicts of water use and management lead towards building peace and sustainable development.

KOICA convene for a 3D GISNWRB Executive Director Dr. Sevillo David Jr. welcomed the members of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) led by K-Water (PMC) General Manager Dr. Young Ho Shin for the updates of the project Integrated 3D Geographic Information Systems (GIS)-Based Water Resources Management Information System in the Provinces of Pampanga and Bulacan.

NWRB participates in DRASTIC Training

Representatives from NWRB, Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA), Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) participated in the training on the Use of DRASTIC Method on Groundwater Vulnerability Assessment in September 25-October 10 at the NWRB Conference Room.

        LISTAHANG TUBIG LAUNCHED The “LISTAHANG TUBIG PROJECT” was launched at the DILG office, Quezon City  on October 29, 2014.  The Listahang Tubig or Water Register a project of the National Water Resources Board is a web-based nationwide survey of water utilities covering  all service levels- Level I or point source, Level II or communal faucets and Level III systems or piped connections supported by the World Bank Water and Sanitation Program (WB-WSP) and the U. S. Agency International Development (USAID)’s Water for Resilient Economic Growth and Stability (Be Secure) Project to be able to expedite the delivery of basic  services and the achievement  of sustainable access to safe drinking water and expected to be completed by May 2015.
