The members of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) presented the final output of their project entitled “Establishment of an Integrated 3D GIS-Based Water Resources Management Information System in the Provinces of Pampanga and Bulacan” to the National Water Resources Board and various stakeholders.

Super typhoon Lando is a devastation to the northern part of the country but it also brought beneficial effects in the water recharge of the country’s major dams in Luzon particularly the Angat dam which caters to the supply for Metro Manila water users. In a span of 28 hours, the water level in Angat dam rapidly rose almost seven meters reaching 200.85 meters in October 18 from 194.23 meters in October 17. As of 6:00 a.m. today, the reservoir elevated to 203.72 meters, a 6.28-meter behind its normal high water level (NHWL) of 210 m.

This is the unified message of the members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Angat Reservoir Operations and Management led by the National Water Resources Board with the  MWSS, NIA, PAGASA, NAPOCOR and the Metro Manila water concessionaires, Maynilad and Manila Water, in a Press Conference on El Niño and Metro’s Water Supply at the NWRB Office.

NWRB participates in the metro-wide “shake” drill

NWRB employees and officials were among the thousands who took part in the simulated earthquake drill in Metro Manila on July 30, 2015.

At exactly 10:30 a.m., fire alarms rung in the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) building where the NWRB office is located. All personnel followed the “dock, cover, hold” position before systematically going down from the 8th floor through the main staircase and different fire exits.
