NWRB develops an automated water permitting system
July 27, 2018

To cope up with the modern technological advancement, NWRB establishes the project Water Permitting Management Information System (WPMIS) which automates the filing, screening and processing of water permit application.

The project primarily aims to improve NWRB’s frontline service for better efficiency and effectivity in granting water permits. Water permit is the document evidencing water right, the privilege granted by the government to appropriate or use water.

Through the WPMIS, water permit application (WPA) can be filed online using any kind of computer or mobile device. Applicants from far-flung provinces will have the ease of filing WPA in the comforts of their home. The system also maps existing water permit grantees and applicants through its geo-visualization feature.

This project is targeted to be finished within the year with full implementation in 2019.

Meanwhile, all interested water permit applicants can file in the NWRB office at 8th floor NIA Bldg., NIA Road, Diliman Quezon City or through deputized agencies including regional offices of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and National Irrigation Administration (NIA).
