POLICY GUIDELINES ON GRANTING OF EXTENSION FOR CONDITIONAL WATER PERMITS

    During the 70th Board Meeting dated September 24, 2008,  Resolution No. 004-1008 was passed authorizing the NWRB Executive Director to grant an extension on a conditional water permit (CWP) for the period  not exceeding six (6) months. Extensions beyond six  (6) months shall be submitted to the Board for approval/ disapproval. Requests for extension shall be filed before its expiration and should be justified by the Applicant with detailed work schedule, if applicable.

 


PROPOSED AMENDMENT ON THE POLICY ON DENIAL/REVOCATION OF DEPUTATION OF WATER DISTRICTS

The NWRB has issued Board Resolution No. 03-0414 on April 23, 2014 which denies the request for deputation of various Water District and likewise revoked/cancelled previously issued deputation of other agencies due to the potential conflict of interest with the functions of the National Water Resource Board;.

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE POLICY GUIDELINES ON GRANTING  WATER RIGHTS OVER SURFACE WATER FOR HYDROPOWER PROJECTS REQUIRING MORE THAN 80% DEPENDABLE FLOW

During the 119th Board Meeting, NWRB Resolution No. 03-0613 was issued or the Revised Policy on Granting of Water Rights Over Surface Water for Hydropower Projects which provides that in general, dependable flow of rivers, which is 80% of flow duration shall be used in technical evaluation to determine the available water to be allocated (maximum amount to be granted in the water permit application) and an environmental flow of 10% of the dependable flow shall be retained


PROPOSED POLICY GUIDELINES FOR THE MASS REGISTRATION OF SINGLE FAMILY DOMESTIC WATER USERS

Background:

The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) was vested the power to control and regulate the utilization, exploitation, development, conservation and protection of all water resources of the country based on Presidential Decree No. 1067 or the Water Code of the Philippines. To carry out its functions, the NWRB is responsible to account the overall water availability of the country and is tasked to regulate and allocate the utilization of this resource.
