The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) recently conducted a two-day “Seminar on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA)” which was held at the Hotel La Corona de Lipa in Batangas last September 10-11, 2014.
The said seminar aimed to promote better understanding of our water resources with climate change impacts and IWRM; increase public awareness of the important functions of NWRB; share IWRM practices and experiences; and familiarize stakeholders on the Water Code of the Philippines and its amended Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).
The National Water Resources Board conducted a series of information, education and communication (IEC) campaign called the “Water Awareness Campaign” in different schools in Metro Manila and Bulacan for the month of June. The campaign is aimed to raise awareness on the importance and value of water; educate on the effects of El Niño; and give some tips on water conservation.
The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) staff attended the Earth Day celebration on April 22 at Quezon City Memorial Circle. The event was spearheaded by Earth Day Network Philippines Inc. (EDNPI), Local Government of Quezon City, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
With this year’s theme, “Earth Day Everyday, Everywhere, For Everyone”, it gives emphasis on encouraging the involvement of each member of the society in making a greener Earth regardless of the day, location, and nationality.
