NWRB opens the Philippine Water Week 2018 Celebration

March 15, 2018

Together with partner institutions, the National Water Resources Board kicked-off the Philippine Water Week 2018 celebration through a nature walk at the La Mesa Nature Reserve, Quezon City.

Participating agencies had the chance to connect with nature while learning the importance of forests and watersheds during the 5-kilometer walk. The attendees were divided into groups which were led by Bantay Kalikasan representatives as the tour guide. Fun games and activities were also enjoyed in the event.

On the side, the annual sungka tournament prepared by Maynilad was commenced simultaneously with the walk. This year’s champion, Annie Almuete from NAMRIA, bested 38 players from different organizations and agencies. NWRB’s employee, Alpha Areniego, was hailed as 1st runner up in this year’s tournament.

The kick-off event was organized by the River Basin Control Office (RBCO) in partnership with Manila Water Company Incorporated (MWCI).
