The National Water Resources Board, together with Manila Water, led the kick-off event for this year’s World Water Day and Philippine Water Week Celebration through an exhibit showcasing different government and private water agencies in the Philippines. The display, held in TriNoma mall in Quezon City, is in line with the 2016 theme, Water and Jobs.
One of the highlights of the event is the viewing of institutional videos of all participating exhibitors including the Biodiversity Management Bureau, Department of Environment and Natural Resources-NCR, DENR-Strategic Communication and Initiatives Services, Department of Public Works and Highways, Laguna Lake Development Authority, Manila Water, Maynilad, Metropolitan Waterworks Sewerage Systems, Manila Bay Coordinating Office, Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission and NWRB.
The level of excitement in the exhibit was heightened with the Sungka Tournament organized by Maynilad. The first ever WWD Sungka Champion is Ronald Abrigo of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System followed by Emougene Ocampo (LWUA), Belen Tormon (NWRB), and Lori Montealegre (DENR-EMB).
